Switzerland is a multi-language country. While we were there, we found French to be the main language in Geneva and Neuchatel. Later, we encountered German as the most used language; however, in the south, some very warm-blooded Italians surprised us by talking in Italian inside the pleasant coolness of the Swiss canton Ticino situated at the Italian border.

With soaring mountain ranges, New Hampshire is often called the Switzerland of America. Fortunately, New Hampshire real estate prices compare favorably to Switzerland.

New Hampshire is a state with beautiful scenery that takes on the full effect of each season of the year. Spring and summer are tailor made for fishing, hiking and water sports along the state coastline. Fall is an explosion of color as the leaves turn, while winter is the time to hit the slopes. The overall contour of the state is mountainous in the north; fields, lakes and forest in the central area; and little villages and beach resorts on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. It is hard to believe such a small state could contain so many things to do throughout the year.

All through the years from when the country became a modern federal state, Switzerland and its government have played an important role in what the country is today. Switzerland’s stand on being a neutral state has allowed it to take part in significant humanitarian tasks in world affairs, acting as mediator among conflicting parties. Switzerland and its government have established for themselves an influence in political affairs through greatly developed scheme of direct democracy.
